Los Angeles, CA

Amanda Raines spoke at the 2014 American Bar Association's Institute for the Young Business Lawyers at the American Bar Association Banking Law Committee Spring Meeting April 10-12, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA. Her panel, “Fair Lending Regulation and Enforcement – Intermediate,” focused on the use of the disparate impact theory of discrimination by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). It featured a discussion of recent developments in disparate impact and fair lending enforcement issues and included a discussion regarding how the new CFPB mortgage rules are expected to impact fair lending.
