David Krakoff and Lauren Randell Defend Client in FCPA Trial in DC Federal Court
David S. Krakoff, Lauren R. RandellThe trial for John Mushriqui began in federal court in Washington, DC on September 28, 2011. Partner David Krakoff and counsel Lauren Randell are representing Mr. Mushriqui, who is charged with FCPA violations in the first undercover sting operation by the Department of Justice and the FBI targeting alleged payments to foreign officials.
On December 22, 2011, at the close of the government’s evidence, Judge Richard Leon dismissed the conspiracy charge and 2 of 5 substantive FCPA charges against Mr. Mushriqui.
Update, 1/30/12: The jury today acquitted two of the five defendants.
