David Krakoff Quoted in Main Justice Article, "U.S. Attorney Says FCPA Won't Drop Despite Setbacks"

David S. Krakoff

Partner David Krakoff was quoted in Jeffrey Benzing's article, "U.S. Attorney Says FCPA Enforcement Won't Drop Despite Setbacks" on Main Justice: Just Anti-Corruption.

Sting defense attorneys David Krakoff and Paul Calli were critical of the government's case against their clients, who were caught in an alleged scheme to bribe a foreign official in Gabon. The deal was a fake, set up with the help of government informant Richard Bistrong, a former executive of Florida-based military and law enforcement equipment maker Armor Holding Inc., who had already been nabbed for violating the FCPA.

"I think that the department and the FBI really didn't appreciate how complicated and difficult running an undercover operation is," Krakoff told the audience of FCPA practitioners.
