Buckley Sandler LLP Announces Partner Promotions

Louis and Michelle L. Rogers, resident in the firm’s Washington, DC office, to the firm's partnership, effective today.

Andrew R. Louis represents consumer financial services clients in private litigation, enforcement actions, internal and external investigations, and regulatory and compliance matters. He defends mortgage lenders and servicers, credit card issuers, state and federally-regulated banks and finance companies in litigation matters, including individual actions, qui tams, class actions, multi-district litigation, appeals, and state and federal enforcement actions. Louis also represents financial services companies in connection with fair lending investigations, examinations and litigation initiated by the Department of Justice, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as well as lending and servicing investigations brought by state attorneys general and bank regulatory agencies. He litigates and counsels clients regarding various federal and state laws relating to consumer financial services, including fair lending laws, credit reporting laws, consumer fraud and mortgage fraud statutes, unfair and deceptive trade practices statutes, and consumer privacy laws. Louis received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2001 (Order of the Coif; magna cum laude) and a B.A. from Colgate University in 1993.

Michelle L. Rogers represents financial institutions in a wide range of litigation matters, including government enforcement actions, class action litigation, regulatory examinations, and corporate internal investigations. She has represented clients in matters involving the Department of Justice, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, federal and state bank regulators, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and state attorneys general, and in cases involving the False Claims Act, Program Fraud Civil Remedies Act, Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Civil Rights Act, and unfair and deceptive trade practices statutes. She also has extensive experience managing complex discovery issues. Rogers received a J.D. from The American University, Washington College of Law in 2005 (summa cum laude, Order of the Coif) and a B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College in 2001 (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
