Benjamin B. KlubesBenjamin K. Olson was interviewed by CNN to discuss President Trump’s selection of Mick Mulvaney to serve as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, following former CFPB director Richard Cordray’s appointment of Leandra English to the position.
Olson noted, “This is an unprecedented situation, at least in my experience working with the government, to have two people asserting authority over at an agency at the same time. Like anybody else, the folks at the CFPB, many of them have been bank regulators for years and years. They have got a job to do. They are looking for their leadership to give them direction. And they just need to know which leader to follow.”
