Tina M. Tchen quoted in Politico article, “SCOOP: Michelle Obama’s ex-chief of staff joins Illinois #MeToo efforts"
Tina M. Tchen was quoted on June 26, 2018 in a Politico article, “SCOOP: Michelle Obama’s ex-chief of staff joins Illinois #MeToo efforts,” which discussed founder of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, Tina Tchen and her involvement as legal counsel to an Illinois anti-harassment panel. The article stated, “Tchen will act as legal counsel to an anti-harassment panel in Illinois that’s about to launch six sessions across the state to engage women on their political workplace experiences. The sessions are private, intended to give women a protected outlet to share their experiences. The sessions are targeted to those who have worked on campaigns and political committees. The Anti-Harassment, Equality and Access panel is now a 501 (c) (4), nonpartisan and one of the committee’s goals is to draw women across party lines.”
Tchen added, “As we all know, the pervasiveness of sexual harassment across industries and sectors runs very deep, and the same is true in Illinois politics. The AHEA panel is a unique opportunity to empower women across political parties in Illinois to help set up guidelines that will support and promote the safety and dignity of women in all phases of political campaigns and encourage more of them to run for office. I am thrilled to participate in such an effort in my own home state.”
