Sasha Leonhardt was quoted on August 16, 2018 in a Bloomberg BNA article, “Senate dems blast CFPB changes to military lending supervision,” which discussed the criticism by Senate Democrats towards the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regarding reports that the bureau’s supervisors will no longer examine companies’ compliance with the Military Lending Act. The article stated, “Even if the CFPB is removed from the MLA supervisory process, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve, and the National Credit Union Administration all have the power to conduct their own examinations for compliance with the law. Those regulators can report their findings to the CFPB. There is also a threat of private litigation.”

Leonhardt added, “It’s not like there isn’t a cop on the beat here.”
