Jeffrey P. Naimon was quoted on February 23, 2020 in an American Banker article, “Election 2020: Is nightmare scenario closer to reality for banks?” which discussed Senator Bernie Sanders’ rise to front-runner in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, and the potential threat a Sanders presidency could pose to banks. The article stated, “Observers say a Sanders presidency could lead to a reversal of Trump regulatory relief initiatives, turnover at the top of the regulatory agencies, and a newfound focus on both enforcement actions and proposals that Sanders has supported in Congress to overhaul the banking industry's structure.”

Naimon noted, “We are starting to see both banks and other financial services companies get interested because Sen. Sanders would represent a significant policy pivot, and obviously, federal policy has a great effect on the industry. They are starting to consider what the possible ramifications might be, what initiatives they might take, and the kind of things they may not do.”
