Warren W. Traiger was quoted on April 8, 2020 in an American Banker article, “Regulators 'full steam ahead' on CRA reform despite coronavirus pandemic,” which discussed the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s decision to continue with Community Reinvestment Act reform — and in particular, not extend the comment period — during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In regard to extending the comment period, Traiger noted, “This proposal has been out since December, meaning stakeholders have had four months to consider and provide comments at this point.” He also noted, “Among banks, the consensus seems to be: Let’s temporarily suspend finalizing this rulemaking. Let's see how things play out.”
