Hank Asbill was extensively quoted on July 10, 2020 in an Agenda article, “New wild cards for white-collar enforcement,” which discussed the state of white collar enforcement amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Asbill noted, “Covid-19 has made it exponentially more difficult to conduct criminal trials. The virus has injected uncertainty around the costs and processes associated with white-collar defense, a shift that could have lasting impacts. The pandemic has made it significantly more difficult and expensive to conduct criminal trials and related proceedings in a timely and fair fashion. The DOJ will undoubtedly, as it has historically done in alleged ‘emergency’ situations or self-declared ‘wars,’ push for more authority for itself and diminished constitutional protections for defendants.”
