Warren Traiger was quoted on September 21, 2020 in an American Banker article, “Fed plan to reform CRA at odds with OCC rule,” which discussed the Federal Reserve’s advance notice of proposed rulemaking to the Community Reinvestment Act and how it differs from other regulators, such as the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. This has caused industry observers to wonder if the regulators will be able to agree on a joint plan in the future.
Traiger noted, “The OCC regulation doesn’t really go into effect until January 2023. There is plenty of time, no matter what happens with the election, for the regulators to come together on this.”
