Alonso weighed in on the daunting task facing the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office as it investigates Trump’s tax records in the New York Times article, “Manhattan D.A. now has Trump's tax returns.” Alonso noted, “In an office that’s handled many, many high profile cases over many decades, this would be the highest profile case ever. We won’t know until we see the evidence how difficult it would be to win convictions, but cases like this one are never easy.”
