Alonso appeared on MSNBC’s The Last Word and discussed the Manhattan DA’s news from the New York Times that Manhattan criminal investigation of former president Donald Trump, which could lead to charges against his Chief Financial Officer, Allen Weisselberg, as soon as this summer.
Alonso noted, “What they`re trying to do here is they`re trying to build a tax case against Weisselberg. If that makes him flip against Trump from the point of view of the D.A., all the better, assuming Donald Trump committed a crime, but as I said before here, Lawrence, it is always possible that the case will be people against Allen Weisselberg. We don`t know right now. But there is every indication that on a variety of fronts, they are focusing their sights on Allen Weisselberg.”
