Melissa KlimkiewiczThe Inside Mortgage Finance article, “Congress reauthorizes NFIP through Feb. 18,” explored the decision to once again temporarily extend the National Flood Insurance Program, this time through February 2022, as well as the ramifications of increased premiums. Klimkiewicz noted, “If there’s no Congressional reform and flood insurance premiums keep going up, it can influence the overall housing market. Always having to worry about what would happen if there were no short-term reauthorization and what would happen to loan closings are a big concern.”
