Buckley Sandler LLP Announces 2014 Partner Promotions

WASHINGTON, DC (May 21, 2014) – Buckley Sandler LLP, a leading national financial services and criminal & civil enforcement defense law firm, takes pleasure in announcing today the election of Amanda M. Raines and Lauren R. Randell, all resident in the firm’s Washington, DC office, to the firm's partnership, effective May 1, 2014.

Ben joined us only last year from the CFPB and has quickly become a critical member of our team and an invaluable source of advice to our clients.”

Buckley Sandler’s newly elected Partners:

  • Amanda M. Raines represents financial institutions in a wide variety of matters, including federal and state enforcement agency investigations and litigation, private civil and class action litigation, regulatory examinations, and corporate internal investigations. She has represented clients in matters involving the Department of Justice, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Securities and Exchange Commission, federal and state bank regulators, and state attorneys general, as well as in cases involving unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices , securities fraud, tax fraud, the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Civil Rights Act, and unfair and deceptive trade practices statutes. In addition, Raines counsels clients on risk management strategies and compliance with various federal and state laws and regulations affecting the financial services industry. She received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif) in 2003 and B.A. from Rhodes College in 2000.
  • Lauren R. Randell represents individual and corporate clients in civil and criminal enforcement cases and trials, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), white collar criminal defense matters, criminal antitrust, securities enforcement defense, securities class action litigation, environmental criminal defense, and consumer litigation. Randell currently represents a defendant in a landmark FCPA case brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission, scheduled for trial in July 2014. In 2011-2012, Randell represented a defendant at trial in the FCPA Sting case, the largest FCPA criminal enforcement proceeding against individuals ever brought by the Department of Justice, successfully obtaining a hung jury mistrial and the later dismissal of all charges by the DOJ. Randell has been involved in several other FCPA investigations and related representations, as well as numerous other representations of companies and individuals in criminal and civil cases. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2005 and B.S. from Yale University in 2002.
