Buckley Sandler announces four counsel promotions for 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 2, 2019) – Buckley Sandler LLP today announced the promotion of four associates to counsel, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

“We are pleased to recognize these four outstanding attorneys who have consistently provided excellent service on behalf of our clients,” said Co-Managing Partner John P. Kromer. “We appreciate their hard work and look forward to seeing them continue to develop with the firm.”

Buckley Sandler’s newly promoted counsel are:

Brandy A. Hood (Washington, D.C.) – Hood advises bank and nonbank lenders, servicers, and insurers on compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, with a focus on consumer financial protection issues. She received her J.D. from Tulane University (cum laude) in 2008, and her B.A. from the George Washington University in 2003.

Kristopher R. Knabe (Chicago) – Knabe represents institutions in a wide range of litigation matters, including government enforcement actions, class action litigation, regulatory examinations, and internal investigations. He received his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and his B.A. from the George Washington University.

Scott T. Sakiyama (Chicago) – Sakiyama represents financial services industry clients in a wide range of enforcement and litigation matters. He received his J.D. from Washington University in 2010 (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif), and his B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University in 2002.

Caroline Stapleton (Washington, D.C.) – Stapleton represents banks and nonbank financial service providers in federal and state regulatory and enforcement matters. She received both her J.D. (2011) and her B.A. (2007, cum laude) from Duke University.

In addition, Donald T. Meier (Washington, D.C.) and Andrew P. Pennacchia (New York) were promoted from counsel to senior counsel.
