Buckley announces eight promotions for 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 25, 2022) – Buckley LLP today announced the promotion of five associates to counsel and three to senior counsel, effective Jan. 1. The attorneys are from the firm’s Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., offices.

“These eight attorneys have regularly delivered outstanding work for our clients, and have demonstrated initiative and commitment over the past year to meet the increased demand for our services,” said Chris Witeck, Buckley’s co-managing partner. “We expect the mounting regulatory and enforcement agenda to accelerate in 2022, and these individuals will be instrumental in maintaining the quality of our counsel and client service going forward.”

Buckley’s newly promoted counsel are:

Brian W. Bartholomay (Washington, D.C.) assists clients in the financial services industry, including national banks, state banks, mortgage companies, servicers, and other consumer lenders on a variety of government enforcement, regulatory, and compliance matters, including representation in examinations, civil litigation, and internal investigations.  He received his B.A. from Davidson College, and his J.D. from Wake Forest University.

Sarah Davis (San Francisco) represents financial institutions in consumer class actions, complex commercial litigation, and regulatory enforcement actions. She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia, and her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.

Lauren L. Erker (San Francisco) represents financial services companies and industry-leading technology, retail, and manufacturing firms in consumer class actions, complex commercial litigation, and enforcement actions. She received her J.D. from Harvard University, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dana Walsh Kumar (New York) represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of litigation and enforcement matters, including complex civil litigation, internal investigations, and government enforcement matters. She received her J.D. from Boston College, and her B.S. from Georgetown University.

Michael N. Morrill (Washington, D.C.) represents corporate and individual clients in a wide range of white collar and complex civil litigation matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago, and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Promoted to senior counsel:

Bree Murphy (Washington, D.C.) represents individuals and corporations in white collar criminal cases, government enforcement actions, and internal investigations. She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia, and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Norma Ramirez-Marin (Los Angeles) represents a variety of financial services clients on licensing, regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters. She received her J.D. from Southwestern Law School, and her B.A. and B.S. from the University of Southern California.

T. Yankov (Washington, D.C.) represents clients in government investigation matters and provides pragmatic, strategic and tactical solutions to complex e-discovery challenges and data risk mitigation. He also serves as director of the firm’s FORTÉ e-discovery and information governance service. He received his J.D. from American University, and his B.A. from the University of Virginia.
